FAQ
An eSIM, or embedded SIM (subscriber identity module), is a digital SIM that performs all the functions of a traditional SIM card using a built-in chip in your device. eSIMs are supported by a range of devices including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and some cars.
With eSIM technology, you can download and activate a mobile network plan directly onto your device, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card.
- Check Compatibility: Make sure your device supports eSIM and is unlocked. Dial *#06# to see if an EID number appears, indicating compatibility.
- Purchase eSIM: Select an eSIM plan and complete your purchase. You will receive an email with a QR code and instructions for activation.
- Activate eSIM: Scan the QR code, follow the activation steps, and enable Data Roaming in your settings to connect.

Activation occurs when your eSIM connects to a local network overseas. The plan's duration starts as soon as this connection is made.
Yes, your device can accommodate both an eSIM for data and a physical SIM for calls and texts. This setup is ideal for travellers who want to avoid roaming charges for data while still using their home number for calls and texts. Note that receiving calls abroad may incur charges, though texts are generally free.
You can store multiple eSIMs on your device, although only one can be active at a time. Check your device’s specifications to see how many eSIMs it can accommodate.
Hotspotting is typically supported by our eSIM plans, unless restricted by your device.
A speed cap is applied to unlimited plans to promote fair usage and prevent excessive data consumption that might affect the network. Once the daily high-speed data limit is reached, internet speed is reduced until it resets the following day. Non-unlimited eSIMs with a fixed data allowance are not subject to these restrictions, permitting unrestricted usage without speed limitations.
Our eSIMs typically provide a maximum usage period of 30 days. If you need to extend your service, simply purchase a new eSIM just before your current one expires to ensure uninterrupted service. The eSIM QR code is sent via email instantly, allowing you to extend your plan immediately by scanning the new QR code.
Your WhatsApp number and contacts will remain unchanged without any required action from you.
Most of our eSIMs are designed primarily for data and do not include traditional calls and texts. However, we offer specific eSIMs with these features for Europe, New Zealand, and the USA. Data enables free communication through apps, which is usually sufficient for most travellers.
